Help Your Child Get A Great Education In School

Help Your Child Get A Great Education In SchoolSummer tutoring camps are the perfect solution for you if you need a summer break to study. The big benefit is that there is no restriction on the number of hours you can spend during your break. If you have a family or some extra income you can stay as long as you like, and at the end of the summer you will be rewarded with a higher grade than you had previously earned. This will give you a big boost in confidence and make it much easier to meet your academic goals. If you are short on time and looking for the best tutor then it is a good idea to start by choosing the best tutor that you can find on the internet. Make sure that the tutor that you choose has a good reputation, is experienced and is teaching many students at once. Most times you will not find the best tutor online so make sure that you check to see what else is on offer before you sign up. Try to match the tutor with the subjects that you are keen on and this will ensure t hat you find the tutor that is right for you. When you have chosen your tutor then you must ensure that they are willing to teach on an ongoing basis. Most good tutors want to stay in contact with their students so make sure that you read the contract and make sure that the tutor understands that you will be signing up for a long term deal. Make sure that you know exactly what is expected of you, this will help you choose the tutor and ensure that you enjoy your experience. You should find that many tutors will offer support, usually through phone calls or emails, but if you are really stuck you may want to book a personal meeting with the tutor so that you can talk to them face to face. You will want to ensure that you understand exactly what the tutor expects from you and what you expect from the tutor. Many people choose to tutor because they have a great teacher that they enjoy and have had some success with, this should not be the only reason why you choose to tutor, if you are s truggling with a subject then it is best to find out whether there is something better that you can learn about the subject. Many summer camps offer extra facilities such as a home study course where you can carry out a series of exams and provide your tutor with references. At this point you can discuss the tutoring contract and the tutors expectations, you should also make sure that you discuss any additional fees that the tutor may charge you for the training.Summer camps can be a great way to improve your grades, and even if you are not able to attend a camp you can still benefit from the information that the tutor can impart. There is so much more information on the internet than you can possibly find in your local library so do not be afraid to get out of the house and read the knowledge that is available.Summer camps offer a great opportunity to meet new people, meet new teachers and it will be nice to be able to come back to your parents and tell them how much you learned. It may be worth your while to think about taking up a summer tutoring at your school.

While you’ll pay £119.99 for a copy of Windows to install as a new OS, a lot (almost all) computers will come with it included.Top 10 Reasons for Buying a Windows Computer1: An Operating System with ExperienceThe first version of Windows dates back to the 1980s. While the first OS with “windows” was made by IBM, since Microsoft’s first foray into the market, they’ve been on the up and up and, for a long time, seemed to have a monopoly in terms of operating systems. Many users of Windows will be familiar with the Windows button and start menu. (Source: tookapic)With the new Windows 10 (whic h came out in 2015), a new browser, and new functionality, Microsoft remains the market leader when it comes to operating systems. The latest version was a welcome update in terms of the look and the effectiveness of applications. It’s great in terms of navigation, too.2: Professionals Prefer WindowsMicrosoft is the preferred OS for businesses. Why?Because Microsoft has provided businesses in the US with digital tools since the 1980s at a price that American firms couldn’t turn their noses up at. The same would later be true for Europe and then Asia. Nowadays, it’s very tricky to find a business without a Windows computer.Bill Gates has always understood the needs of American businesses. This has helped Microsoft become recognisable in the public eye. It’s really easy to get started with Windows, too.3: Windows Is Available at Unbeatable PricesFor around £300 you can get a lightweight laptop that’s great for everyday use. Of course, while this is the cost of an entry-level la ptop, you can pay a lot more if you need something powerful for playing the latest games, for example.4: Windows Programs are UniversalWhile the Windows Store is at the heart of Microsoft tablets, Windows Phone, and computers running Windows 10, there are plenty of universal programmes that you can get for any Windows computer. Skype, for example, can be used for calls and video conferencing on almost any computer using Windows. If you want a new Windows PC, you’ll be able to download a plethora of apps and programs for your system. It doesn’t matter if you replace your old LG with a Lenovo, for example. There are also integrated programmes and apps like Windows Defender and Windows Server which can protect any computer regardless of its brand.5: Windows Formats Are More AccessibleWhether you’re using a laptop, desktop, or tablet, it’s up to you. The paid-for versions start at £1.99 a month. It’s also easier to save to the Cloud with Gmail and Google Drive from a Windows PC. This is very useful if you need to change computers.7: The Windows Help SystemThe Windows Get Help App can provide you with support. You no longer have to look for the “Help” tab, which is often of little help. This can help you use your computer and Cortana is a bit like having your own personal assistant. If you played the Halo games on the Xbox (also made by Microsoft), you'll recognise her voice. While you might have problems with bugs and programs operating slowly with an older version of windows, in my experience, updating to Windows 10 sorted out a lot of the problems I was having.8: Windows Constantly Reinvents its SystemWith Windows 10, the Start Button and Start Menu are back alongside the taskbar after having disappeared for a few years. This is good news for purists, who were very unhappy with the decision to remove it. This is a quick way to access your files in just a few clicks. Thanks to regular upgrades, Windows is more effective than ever when it comes to everyday use. There’s a reason that professionals love the design and functionality of Windows.Additionally, when a new version of Windows is released, it's often very easy to upgrade. My older laptop was running Windows Vista (which wasn't great) but I got a free Windows 10 Upgrade and never had to install the hugely unpopular Windows 8 that was like having a giant smartphone or Surface Pro if you used it on a desktop computer or laptop.9: Windows Graphics Are Better for GamersHave you heard of Nvidia graphics cards? There are lots of di fferent components that can be used with computers. Key Facts About The SAT Math Section

Key Facts About The SAT Math Section The math sections of the SAT breakdown in the following ways: One 25-minute section with 20 multiple choice questions One 25-minute section with 8 multiple choice, and 10 grid-in questions One 20-minute section with 16 multiple choice questionsHere are three rules to follow to set yourself up before you do any actual studying.Rule 1: Time Management:The SAT math sections are structured with the test-taker in mind. They start off with easy problems that get progressively more difficult from question to question. You should not spend too much time on the early questions as you will want the extra minutes for the harder problems at the end. That being said, you should not entirely skip the early questions either. Easy questions count for just as much as hard ones. So while you should be moving swiftly in the beginning, dont rush or skip with the intention of returning later. The next 2 strategies are things that every test taker should know (and they dont require actually mastering algeb ra or geometry). [RELATED: What Does SAT Stand For?]Rule 2: Picking NumbersThe first strategy is to pick a number. Any number. OK, well not ANY number, but a number that is easy to work with and readily adaptable. For example:Question: An integer is multiplied by 2. This result is decreased by 1. Finally, that result is increased by 5. What is the final result, in terms of x? a. x+1 b. 2(x+4) c. x-4 d. 2x+4 e. xRather than writing out each equation and solving it, you can pick a number. For example, lets pick 5. Now we can just plug that number into each equation and let the math do the work for us.In the question we take an X (our 5) multiply by 2 to get us to 10. Subtract 1 = 9. Add 5 = 14.Now we plug in our number to the answers. a. 5+1=6 WRONG b. 2(5+4) = 2(9) = 18 WRONG c. 5-4=1 WRONG d. 2(5)+4 = 10+4 = 14 CORRECT! e. 5 WRONGWith minimal effort, we were able to solve a problem that had we done the right way by solving for 2 equations could have easily taken more time. Granted this is a simplified version, but the theory works even for more difficult questions. When picking numbers, think about what the problem is looking for. If you are working with percentages, 100 is your best bet. But using small numbers is also the best way to simplify problems. 3, 5 and 10 are all good jumping off points. Try it out and see what works best for you.Rule 3: Work BackwardsThe second strategy is to work backwards. This involves simply plugging in the available answers into the problem.Question: If (4x+3)-(2x+1)= 3(x-4)+(3x-10), what is x? a. 4 b. 5 c. 6 d. 7 e. 8We could sit and solve for x by manipulating the equations. OR, we could plug in the numbers we already have.If we plug in 4 we get: (4(4)+3)-(2(4)+1)=3((4)-4)+(3(4)-10)Which, when simplified becomes: (16+3)-(8+1)=3(0)+(12-10) ?19-9=0+12 or 10=12 which is clearly incorrect. And we can do this for every number until we find the one that works ? 6.If a question doesnt make sense, dont panic. We saw here that as long as you can add, su btract, multiply and divide (or can use a calculator to perform these functions), hard problems can melt away and reveal their answers to you.

ICAEW Chartered Accountant Qualification

ICAEW Chartered Accountant Qualification Who Is The ICAEW? ChaptersWhich ICAEW Exams Do I Need To Pass To Become A Chartered Accountant? Why Study A Course From The ICAEW?The Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, known as the ICAEW for short, was founded in 1880 and is, according to their website, “a global professional body for chartered accountants”.In the UK, it’s worth noting that an “accountant” is not a term that is specifically regulated. This means that, in practice, anyone can claim to be an accountant, even if they have very limited numerical skills and have no awareness of accounting standards such as UK GAAP or IFRS.Thankfully, there are bodies such as the ICAEW in the UK that operate as regulatory bodies and provide qualifications that lead to a chartered accountancy designation for successful individuals. Members of the ICAEW are known as an ACA (Association of Chartered Accountants).Having such a designation means that the individual has completed all examination, practical work experience, and othe r membership requirements of the ICAEW. What’s more, it means that the individual is sufficiently experienced and trained in matters relating to accountancy.Having such a qualification can really help an individual to stand out from the pack and can really help boost your career prospects within the accounting industry. What’s more, having a chartered accountant designation also helps the general public to determine whether an accountant or accounting practice is suitably qualified and as such it provides an extra level of reassurance to potential clients.Audit;Business strategy;Management accounting; andFinance. This means that anyone with an ACA qualification should be well-rounded in terms of their accounting and business knowledge, which is crucial in today’s business environment. In total, students undertaking the ACA qualification would be expected to sit and pass 15 exams. Understandably, it can take students time to study each examination module, and it’s not uncommon f or students to take a few years to complete all the exams, especially if you are also working with your employer while studying.Discover everything you need to know about sitting the CPA exam...It can take some time for students to pass every single exam from the ICAEW if they are looking to obtain the ACA qualification. (Image Source: CC0 1.0, jairojehuel, Pixabay)Breaking Down The ACA ExamsAs noted above, there are 15 exams to complete as part of the ACA qualification. These exams are split across three separate levels:The certificate level; The professional level; andThe advanced level. The certificate level is the first set of exams that students will usually tackle. There are six exams at this level, including:Accounting;Assurance;Business, Technology and Finance;Law;Management Information; andPrinciples of Taxation. These exams, as their titles suggest, cover a wide variety of topics that form the basis for subsequent exams at the other levels.Even if you’re not sure if you wou ld like to complete all of the exams required in order to obtain the ACA, then it’s useful to know that completing the six exams at the certificate level will put the student one step closer to obtaining the ICAEW Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (CFAB).Although completing the CFAB on its own does not entitle you to call yourself an ACA or a chartered accountant, the CFAB certification is still an internationally recognised qualification, which shows potential or existing employers that you have knowledge of a broad range of areas, including accounting, finance, and business. The CFAB can also usually be completed within a 12 month period, which is good for those who may not have the time commitment available to continue with the full ACA course of study.Find out also how you can become a Certified Management accountant...What Happens If I Fail An Exam? It’s important to note that, while you are permitted to re-sit examination modules if you fail an exam, exam sitti ngs only happen at set times each year. What’s more, if you are able to pass every ACA exam first time, this can be a real selling point on your CV when the time does come to find a new role. That is an excellent reason to work with an accounting tutor! However, don’t be disheartened if you aren’t able to pass your ACA exams the first time â€" they are tough to get through, and having passed all of them, even with re-sits, is still a major achievement in itself! It's great if you can pass all your ICAEW exams the first time, but don't worry too much if you do fail one or two - there are a lot of exams to pass in order to become ACA exam-qualified! (Image Source: CC0 1.0, PublicDomainPictures, Pixabay)Practical Work ExperienceEven once you’ve passed the above exams, the hard work to become ACA qualified doesn’t stop there. This is because there are other requirements that students must meet in order to apply to become a member of the ICAEW.For instance, in addition to the exami nation requirements, there is also a requirement for students to complete a set amount of relevant practical work experience. This helps to ensure that ACA chartered accountants have enough experience working within industry or practice before carrying the ACA title. The amount of relevant practical work experience you’ll need to have accumulated prior to applying for membership to the ICAEW is significant but very achievable. This is because the number of days of work experience is in excess of a year’s worth of experience. For example, if, alike many ACA candidates, you find yourself working for an employer that offers you an ACA training contract, you’ll find that often such training contracts run for a period of three years or so, however, the exact length of any contract will be dependent on the individual and their employer.Join the discussion: is it a good idea to obtain Certified Fraud Examiner credentials? Many ACA students find that, within this three year period, they have plenty of opportunities to accumulate the required amount of work experience by the ICAEW, even when combining their work with time out of the office for examination revision and study. In terms of the nature of the work that you have to perform for it to be considered relevant, the type of qualifying work from the ICAEW’s perspective is very broad and can involve tasks such as undertaking audit work  or completing a client’s corporation tax return.Ultimately, if you have any concerns about the practical work experience requirement, it’s best to raise any issues you may have with the ICAEW, as well as your employer if possible so that you can get the answers and the reassurance that you need.Do you know what the Certified Financial Analyst Institute is for?Becoming a member of the ICAEW can be great for your career prospects. (Image Source: CC0 1.0, geralt, Pixabay)Why Study A Course From The ICAEW?Whether you’re looking to become ACA qualified, or would prefer to comple te a less intensive certification such as the CFAB, the ICAEW is an internationally recognised and highly-regarded body that has equipped hundreds of thousands of its members with the knowledge, skills, and continuing professional development tools needed to be successful in their careers. If you are considering a career in accountancy, the qualifications offered by the ICAEW are certainly worth exploring in further detail. In fact, if you know of someone who has studied the ACA or the CFAB previously, it may be worth speaking to them to hear what their thoughts and experiences of working towards the qualifications were.Although it's worth noting that the syllabus of some of the exams may have changed, particularly if your friend or contact studied the ACA a while ago, it's still worthwhile hearing what their experience was of getting the qualification and whether they would recommend that you pursue it.If you think that a career in accounting may be for you, but you’re unsure of w hether you have the mathematical or accounting skills needed to succeed, then you can always check in with an online accounting tutor at Superprof for any help you may need to improve your mathematical prowess.Equally, if you're currently studying accounting at a university as either an undergraduate or a postgraduate, then an accounting tutor can help answer any questions that you have, or provide you with helpful study tips for how to approach your exams in a calm but focused way.Whether you’d like to have a one on one lesson or would prefer working with a tutor in a small group, Superprof offers a range of study formats to suit students. This is because no two essays are the same â€" essays are designed to allow ideas to flow freely and should display the writer’s personality and opinions.By trying to emulate yours and others’ idea of a perfect essay, you could be stifling your creativity so dispel the idea that you must write in a certain way and just get writing. As easy as that sounds, we understand why students are so caught up on the perfect piece of writing, as they are given unrealistic goals to reach. Websites and educational articles inundate pupils with details about perfect grades, perfect application forms for further education and, of course, how to write the perfect essay. If this holy grail of essays does exist then how come each and every one of them has slightly different ideas on how to perfect it? If a perfect essay does indeed exist, it is only because you have made it perfect in the way that you have approached your chosen subject and how you have made links to come up with your ultimate conclusion. If you were to ask a teacher if they could pick out one perfect essay from all of those they have ever seen, they would find it utterly impossible since every student has unique experiences  to draw from and distinguishes their analysis of texts completely differently to others.Furthermore, the emotions that are displayed in essays are what teachers want to see, and who is anyone to say that we should all feel the same thing when we read a book or write an essay?Writing an essay can be a daunting task. There are many pitfalls for the unwary, but don’t despair! The advice below should help you avoid some of the common mistakes…Understand the question.  Underline key points or words. Is it asking you to discuss, contrast, define or evaluate? Answer the question that’s actually on the page, not the question you wish was there.Do your research.  Make detailed notes from your sources (books, articles, films). Make sure you always write down the full details of where any quotes or ideas come from. Exercise caution  when using internet sources â€" Wikipedia, whilst a wonderful resource,  should not be quoted as a source.Plan your structure.  Start by just getting your ideas down with a spider diagram or a list. After you’ve done that, begin to re-arrange material into a more coherent structure, deciding on what to include in your introduction, your main points for each paragraph and how you will draw it all together in the conclusion.Use the active voice wherever possible.  The active voice occurs when  the subject of the sentence is also the ‘doer’: eg. ‘Hitler’s army invaded Poland’ rather than ‘Poland was invaded by Hitler’s army’. The first sentence is much more direct and snappy â€" the passive voice can easily sound waffly.Don’t make sweeping generalisations.  These can include sentences such as “Many people think that [insert opinion]”. Be specific â€" if you can’t say which people, and reference where they’ve said it, then it’s probably best to re-think what you’re writing.Be careful not to present other people’s ideas and opinions as your own.  It’s easily done, but it’s still plagiarism. If you’re putting forward an opinion that you’ve read on a particular subject, write: ‘[Dr X] wrote in her paper on [Y] that it’s possible that [Z]’.Most important, though, is to remember that your essay should be your chance to put across what   you  think and feel about a subject. If you can follow the advice above,  andput something of yourself into your essay, then  you’re onto something very good indeed.Find a Skype English teacher here. How to Write an Essay PlanMost students will be aware that an essay starts with an introductory paragraph, followed by a series of points divided into paragraphs or subtitles and then culminating in a summary of the points made and the resulting conclusion.Although some students are natural writers and can write an essay with minimal planning, most students need a plan or draft to work with. Whether you use a spider diagram, flow chart or just note down bullet points during this preparatory stage, you should try to visualise the paragraphs on the page and imagine how the entire piece will come together.Learn more writing tricks with this complete guide to writing! It does not matter how you plan your essay, but putting your ideas down on paper helps you to see how your essay will flow. Photo credit: drew.harry via Visual HuntIt is at this stage, when you are playing around with ideas and theories to discuss, that you should identify the order in which you will make your points. Good essays usually provide subtle links from one paragraph to the next, so do be sure to think in advance about which points lead smoothly onto the next.It is whilst planning your essay that you will do the most research, as you will effectively be writing down a summary of what you intend to cover in your text. As such, you might re-read sections or chapters of your workbooks, go over notes taken in class, look at resources offered by your exam board (whether that be AQA, OCR, WJEC, Edexcel, Eduqas or another) or surf the Internet to find interesting critiques or evaluations that you could look into as part of your investigation.Planning your essay and having the bones of your final piece in place can do a lot for your confidence, as you will have a clear direction and can feel positive t hat all you need to do from this point on is to expand on your initial thoughts. Knowing that you do not need to research and come up with a range of new avenues to follow can make it seem like the bulk of the work has already been done.Find GCSE English tutor here. This is because, despite having planned what you are going to investigate, you still need to allow yourself some freedom during the writing process, otherwise your essay could wind up becoming monotone and mund ane with little emotion to sway the reader with. How to Structure an EssayYou should start your writing task by filling out the body of text, which means working through the points in your essay plan and adding a certain level of detail, quotes and other evidence to back up your thoughts. At this point, if any new ideas pop into your mind, follow your instincts and see where this analysis takes you.So long as you do not allow yourself to get distracted from the point of the thesis, you can still get your essay back onto the course you had mapped out. You never know, it could be these spontaneous changes in direction which take your essay from a good one to a great one. You might even describe it as your perfect essay! The time it takes to write your essay is irrelevant. If you are a fast writer, then writing a 1500-word essay in the space of a couple of hours is not uncommon. The introduction of an essay, by nature, tells the reader what you plan to look at in the thesis and gives them an idea of where this essay might take them.Introductions should remain quite vague though, as do not forget that that you have not yet investigated your points at this stage and thus do not want to take anything away from your concluding paragraph. Introductions do not need to be smart, as they a re just the first in a number of stepping stones towards a final statement or revelation.Imagine your essay is like a series of stepping stones, with your introduction leading to a number of paragraphs towards the final conclusion. Photo credit: sharing user info with oath is wrong via VisualHunt.comHow to Conclude an EssayThe conclusion, meanwhile, summarises the key points made in the body of your text, fed by the various sources of information you have used to support these. The conclusive paragraph should ultimately answer the questions raised at the start of the piece and leave the readers with a lasting impression. It is here that you need to be smart and need to make it clear where your findings have come from and why it is that you feel this way in a concise manner.Remember that your essay’s introduction and conclusion are very closely linked and therefore you should be able to read them together and see very clearly,   acknowledgements in the latter to questions raised in the former. A clear narrative, reasoning and explanation are key!If your conclusion does not fit in with your introduction, you may need to start over and re-write your introduction to make the transition from beginning to end appear seamless.Additional Tips for Essay WritingTeachers and examiners would agree that a successful essay is the culmination of a list of things. Some of the things they will be looking for are: a strong introductory statement, an interesting interpretation of the topic, a revelation or conclusion to sum up the points discussed and, of course, a good display of spelling, grammar, vocabulary and punctuation.  Learn how to improve your spelling for better writing!Do not complete your essay and then cast it to one side. Although you may be glad to see the back of it, the finishing touches can play a huge part in the perception of your final piece. This means to revise and proofreading the text numerous times, initially to check for errors and typos and then at least once more to ensure it flows well. You might also like to ask a friend or parent to read it and provide you with unbiased feedback.Another thing to be aware of when editing your writing is tone and perspective (i.e. if you are writing in the first person as is most common in academic essays, be sure to stick to the pronoun ‘I’ throughout your piece when communicating your views).Become the best essay writer with the help of a private English tutor. Finally, you may find it useful to have a dictionary and thesaurus to hand when writing your essay, so that you can embellish the content a little. If your vocabulary is limited, use a thesaurus to experiment with new words that fit in with your tone and writing style, which can in turn help to expand your word stock and the power of your lexicon. If your essay is being marked as an original piece of work or, is a research paper of work for school or university, be sure to use citations, quotations and a bibliography to avoid plag iarism. What do you think about  the future of the English language lies?  Join the discussion: do British students need more help in English spelling?
